A Unique Vacation Rental in Saturnia, Tuscany

Quintessential Rural Tuscany

La Fornacina is an iconic Tuscan farmhouse built with local stone at some point of 1800’s by the renown Saturnia thermal baths in the Maremma Tuscany.

Our family purchased the house and the land a few decades ago and restored it keeping alive the original character and a rustic charme that will warmly welcome you. We like to share this unique place with like-minded people who are traveling the most fascinating part of Italy. Our place can be many things for you, depending on what you are seeking: an intimate yoga retreat, a cooking workshop where to learn how mastering the secrets of the Italian cuisine or a shelter where, with good friends or family, you can treat yourself in a unique atmosphere. Can be even a white canvas where to explore a creative process by yourself but if you just need intimacy or you are large group, you can get the entire house for yourself.

Smartly Located in Central Italy

La Fornacina is centered in a pristine natural environment near the thermal baths of Saturnia Terme, in the Morellino di Scansano DOC wine territory less than 2h from the Rome Fiumicino international Airport. We are centrally located between Rome and Florence, both at less than two hours by car and therefore perfectly suited for day trips to all kind of natural, historical and food/wine attractions. We are also close to Siena, Montalcino, San Gimignano, Bolsena Lake, Perugia, Volterra and all the major points of interest of the area. The Maremma Tuscany is the southern tip of Tuscany, also know as the wild virgin “far west” of Italy, is still an “undiscovered” gem, away from the mainstream type of tourism. What is great of this part of the region compared with areas such Chianti, is the proximity to the mediterranean coast, from La Fornacina you can get to the beaches of the Argentario Coast and Giglio Island in about 40 minutes and within the same range of time you can be on top of the spectacular Mount Amiata a 6000 feet mountain with beautiful apennines landscapes and villages.
